I started cooking dinner for my family again recently. Just like what I used to do during my post form6 holiday.

Dish that I'm most proud of so far.

Honey Grilled Chicken Chop with creamy spaghetti! :D:D:D

Super nice okayyyy yummsss~~

Caught eating spaghetti with chopsticks!

From once miscalling spaghetti as 'italy mee' when I was young, to visiting Italy for real in less than a month's time, I can't believe this!!! :D:D:D:D

Trip planning is tiring. but it's definitely worth it :)

How many of you know about the diary of Anne Frank?
I did not know at first too.

That day I was in sf's room asking her loads about her europe backpack adventure. Still remember it was the night when the little typhoon swept the whole NUS and it chilled my spine to see the scaffolding of the construction site opposite our hall shaking helplessly in the wind.
We talked about Germany, and the Netherlands. and she told me about visiting the secret annex of Anne Frank in Amsterdam.
At that moment, I was sure I came across this name somewhere before. But I did not know what is a diary of Anne Frank. and why people read her diary. who is she.

Now I know.

Anne Frank is just another jewish girl who did not survive the WWII. Her diary was published few years after WWII ended and quickly became one of the top sellers.
Anne Frank's family and a another family used to hide in the attic of her father's office in the Amsterdam, with its door behind a revolving bookshelf. It was some secret chamber for them to escape from being caught by the Nazis back to Germany. The secret chamber was dark and damp and they mustn't make any noises as the warehouse downstairs was still operating. Anne Frank wrote consistently during her days living in the secret chamber. The last time she confided her feelings to the papers was on August1,1944, when the people in hiding were betrayed and Nazis found them and chased them all out from the hiding place.

something worth sharing:
http://www.annefrank.org/
(just copy and paste the link pls. i don't know why but the link thingy doesnt work!)

Interesting, and very detailed.

I even watched the Anne Frank movie on Youtube. (Can you believe that? I watched it on Youtube using streamyx connection! Imagine how long did i take to load 19 clips!) It is a great version as it further describes the disaster Anne and her family went through being in the concentration camp, touching and moving. It is truly saddening to see how humans can hate each other so much due to the difference in religion and all the things they made them suffered are just so heartbreaking. And I can't believe that it was something happening not too long ago. The same feeling I had when I visited the war museum in Vietnam.

There were millions of people that died and had stories, Anne was just one of those stories that got read to the public. I can't wait to visit the secret hiding place of Anne Frank. I'm sure it's gonna give me yet another reminder on how lucky we are today, living in peace and ease.

Been OFFline for so long since I was back from Singapore. It's not like there's no internet connection here. But having streamyx is like not having internet at all. because pages just don't load though ironically streamyx claims that it runs at 54.0Mbps. which is like super fast. lol. along with my internet connection signal strength stated 'EXCELLENT'. bah. I could leave pages to load and go for shower and come back, still loading wtf.

My dad pays every month for the best streamyx wireless service they could provide and they give us such shit. even wanting to write them a complaint letter is a disaster because we even have problem loading their own streamyx homepage. apa ini u tell me.

Today's connection is exceptionally good. the waiting time of page loading is still bearable. so here I'm updating my super dusty blog. don't care if people read. i think i really need to get used to regular blogging because I'm gonna practice it when I go over to Europe. :D

Anyways life at home has been good. (though i just had a little fight with my mom today, but sokay. lol. tmr will be a better day!) time flies lar. I've been home for almost 2 months already since the last night spent together with the girls, with red wines and SOME bitchiness. HEHEHE.

First time drinking red wine with sprite. what a waste! but it's nice tasted like some cocktail. me like! :D

and then we went like this XD

Days in Malacca have been rather sluggish and sometimes, emo.
Sluggish because all I do recently is to plan for my Europe trip. Pulling my hair infront of the laptop(because it takes ages to load a page that I need to look up for certain info)and reading up some historical background info of the places I'm gonna visit. It's fun to look up for fancy and budget hostel but heartache when it's time to pay with credit card. even if it's not my own credit card. cause everything costs in euros. and the currency now is like... 4.83? latest update. sibeh sien :( please drop lower can or not!
House chores every now and then. and cooking dinner :D oh oh been learning up some new dishes from the recipe book too gonna experiment them soon so that I could cook for the boyfriend in uk :)
