Days in the animal clinic.. 1

"hello.. i'm a STPM undergraduate who is currently waiting for results.. i'd like to ask if i'll be able to work in ur clinic as a volunteer so that i can gain more hand-on experience about veterinary medicine?"

After calling up the clinic several times.. repeating the same old sentence over and over again.. i finally got to get into the clinic!! =D yeahhh!!!!!

thanks to all the doctors, who are so friendly and never think that i'm a burden to them,letting me try out lots and lots of fun stuff.. nah perhaps to them it's just another boring thing to do, but to me, i'm excited with each and every one of the task! (oh pls dun get me wrong.. i think all vets wont think helping out an animal to regain its health is a boring job,they're dedicated!i can see that in their eyes! they have passion towards the job because they are trained to do it...)

Each morning, the first thing to do when i get into the clinic is to feed the dogs with their medicine inscribed by the doctor..wat i do is by wrapping up the medicine with some can dog food,roll them into a ball and give to the dog. Diff dog has diff character,some are smart, while some are rather dumb.. XD so there are diff ways to let the dogs take their medicine without fail.
feeding the cats and the rabbits with medicine doesnt work with wat i do with the canine. We use a piston instead.
Applying medication cream and spraying fungicide onto the animals' infected area looks easy but it actually doesnt coz animals wont listen when u ask them to sit properly and not to move~ =D

There's one PakCik who brought all his 4 cats to the clinic to seek for consultation the other day... and the doctor asked me to put on my gloves quickly and let me tried out measuring the cats' body temperature and weighing the cats.. feed the cats with antibiotics and deworming pills.. and i even had to clean the cats' ears and examined wat i 'korek' from the cats' ears under a microscope! Ear mites!!!! trust me, they don't look pretty.
(when pulling out the thermometer out of the cat's backside,there's shit on it! omg~ hehehe)

Geessss... i feel like i'm a vet assistant and i really enjoy everything i do! (wa so self syok!)

Thank god because i'm just so lucky to get the job! yup, no pay, but i dont mind! i really dont! =D
